An exhibition of photos from renowned Isle of Wight photographer James Dore, and a showcase of historic shipwreck photos are going on display in four libraries.

Larry Ellis ‘Take Tea With The Stars’

A rolling Photographic Exhibition by Larry Ellis is taking place in the Cameron Tearooms at Dimbola Museum and Galleries.

Very much up close and personal with many of the stars of the period, now you to can get up close and personal with the likes of Sammy Davis Jr, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and many more at Larry’s exhibition ‘Tea With The Stars’ at Dimbola. The exhibition is free as long as you enjoy a cup of tea.

Norman Parkinson Exhibition

A new exhibition ‘The Age Of Innocence’  by British photographer Norman Parkinson, will go on display at Dimbola Lodge in April.

“Legendary British photographer Norman Parkinson (1913 – 1990), operated in a world of high fashion, but he was also drawn to the carefree innocence of children, capturing a lost era when childhood was an optimistic and untarnished experience.”

Alongside his passionate enthusiasm for Julia Margaret Cameron’s images of children portraying a romantic innocence, this inspired Parkinson’s own work in this genre.  Continue reading

Ken Russell Photography Exhibition

A new Isle of Wight photography exhibition in October will look back on the early photographic  work of British film director Ken Russell.

In the 50’s as a freelance photographer Ken Russell now 83, captured the great eccentrics of his youth for posterity in photographs which remained unseen for 50 years.  Read more click here

Dimbola Lodge  will host an exhibition giving a glipse of the impressive photographic talent of Ken Russell from 7th October 2011 – 8th January 2012.

Potty About ‘Pet Photos’

Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group photographer Dale Durfee (pictured), has an exhibition of Pet Photo’s on display in Newport.

Dale Durfee’s ‘Pet Photo’ Exhibition at the New Rembrandt Gallery, features some of her excellent photographic work with animals.  

The exhibition which runs until 28th February 2011, is an extension of Dale’s career in photography and commissions are now being taken from anyone who would like their pets photographed.

Dale moved from America to the UK some 20 years ago, and although horses are her true passion (especially the Marwari), she remains committed to her love of photography. Continue reading

Monochrome Miscellany Exhibition A Success

For those who have yet to view the “Monochrome Miscellany Exhibition at Ventnor Winter Gardens you had better get your skates on, as it ends this week (25th November).

Well done to those photographers who participated, the exhibition was well received and managed to capture interest in providing  “something for everyone”.

We even got a mention in the 5th November, Weekender Section of the Isle of Wight County Press.
