Edison would have been proud of him. A few bits of wire, a mobile phone, a Laptop and a Digital Projector were linked in a magic ring. The meeting sat in semi darkness as Gary Early invoked the presence of his latest creation at Sandown and District Camera Club.

Theatrically, he pressed a button. Nothing happened. Ever the showman, he cranked up the atmosphere. “ This might not work you know . “. We all sat in silence. Should we link hands ? Was he waiting, like Peter Cushing’s Dr Von Helstead, for a flash of lightning to initiate the process? Then slowly, bit by computer bit, on to the screen emerged our new Club Website resplendent in Black and Gold. We were all suitably impressed… Gary then proceeded with the introductions and put it through its paces.

Like an estate agent showing us around our new house, Gary proudly took us, in turn, into every sub-site, category and RSS feed of this powerful site with its active Calendar linked to the Club Program. Whether you want to plan ahead for the Competitions or just want a reminder of the date to turn up for that talk that you don’t want to miss . . just visit the site. It is the information highway between you, as Members and us as Club Administrators and an automatic archive of past events with a useful search facility.

With its link to “ Amateur Photographer “ there will always be something to enjoy from a visit.
