Sculptures and beach features across the West Wight were snapped over the summer for the West Wight Landscape Partnership Pebble People photography competition.
Congratulations to IWDIG man of the moment Francis Chambers (pictured) for winning the landscape category.
It was thanks to Francis who proposed we ‘Get Stoned at Dimbola’ that we discovered news of the photography competition on our doorstep. A free exhibition of entries will held at Dimbola Lodge in Freshwater from Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th October 2010.
Judges had a tough decision with 43 entries, the temporary Pebble People sculpture at Freshwater Bay proved to be a big hit, for snappers.
Winners…
In the Landscape category Francis Chambers from Freshwater won the 14 yrs+ and Aaron Demolder from Essex came first amongst the 8 to 14yrs.
Brigitte Minassian from Totland Bay had the winning entry in the Macro 14+yrs, while the 8 to 14yrs group was won by Rowan Dommett from Hampshire.
Prizes for winners and runners up in each age category, included membership of the National Trust and Hants & IW Wildlife Trust plus a framed copy of their winning entry.
Judging the competition were Rian Trim from Dimbola Lodge, Brian Gilbert from ‘Art Frames’ and Penny Rushton from Festival Arts.

We reviewed the IWDIG Group Task ‘Get Stoned at Dimbola’ in summer. We were impressed by the psychedelic look Walter gave to the Pebble People but we have to hand it to Francis his image was a winner. A free exhibition of entries will held at Dimbola Lodge from Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th October.
