We had a great time at the Silent Auction last night and amazed at how many people came to show their support at Dimbola. All of the donated items, promises and raffle prizes, were snapped up and we can reveal a whopping £2200.00 was raised.
After finding out Koo Stark was unable to attend, High Sheriff Susie Sheldon stepped in to lend her support and opened the Silent Auction at 7pm. In excess of 93 items were donated and promised to be auctioned off during the evening.
The eclectic mix of items included Books, Artwork and Prints of famous people. Number 1 on the list of Silent Auction items; Yarmouth RNLI offered an opportunity for five people to experience a trip on a lifeboat.
Lots of meals, spa and beauty treats and some unique ones too! 4 hrs ironing was donated by Phyll Fender and spending some time in a Yurt on Afton Down courtesy of Alison & Anthony Martin.
IWDIG member Dale Durfee donated a Pet Photographic Shoot and as Gary and myself were there we managed to capture a chat with MP Andrew Turner who was happy to pose with Larry Ellis and David White. As IWDIG members are aware, Larry is presently exhibiting his ‘Take Tea with the Stars’ in the Tearoom. Larry donated quite a few of his famous people prints and David as Trustee of Dimbola ensured the evening was most successful in the meet and greet department.
All in all a good time was had by all and it was one soiree at Dimbola that was not to be missed.
