I’m sure at one time or another we’ve all been told to ‘get a life’, well for (Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group) photographer and tutor Gary Early this came fairly close yesterday as he chatted to BBC Radio Solent Presenter Neil Sackley for his ‘Get a Life’ radio programme.
Neil’s radio slot aims to provide listeners with an insight into various careers and hobbies along with a mixture of reviews and previews from the world of the arts and culture.
Listen on DAB Radio, 96.1 and 103.8 FM.
This week he caught up with Professional Photographer Gary Early at Dimbola Lodge to talk about photography as part of his regular ‘Get a Life’ radio show.
We are not sure how much will hit the cutting room floor before the broadcast; listen in on Sunday (weblinks below) to find out.
Neil and Gary talked about photography firstly as a hobby and popular leisure activity then discussed what help is out there in taking that skill further on a possible career path to employment. They also chatted about ways that everyone can improve their photography and things to think about when aiming for that perfect picture.
Gary says “Being on the radio was great way to get the message out there that photography can be enjoyed by people of all ages and that there are already groups out there to help them whether considering a purely leisure activity or maybe towards a professional career. I have to extend a big thank you to Neil for providing both myself and the IWDIG the opportunity to promote photography here on the Isle of Wight”.
The interview will be broadcast twice on Sunday 6th January 2013 just after 11am and 6pm. On DAB Radio, 96.1 and 103.8 FM or if you miss the broadcast listen online via this link here or here BBC Radio Solent.
