7th Hantsweb Award Nomination For IWDIG
You may recall having recently read on Island Pulse about the 7th Hantsweb Awards.
Well, congratulations to us all! we are delighted to let our members know the Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group website has been nominated in three categories.
Each year, Hantsweb, the online presence of Hampshire County Council, invites nominations for their Web Awards competition. The 7th Hantsweb Awards were divided up into 12 categories with the IWDIG nominated in Charity or Voluntary Organisation, Education and Learning along with Special Interest.
The categories fit perfectly as all of the skills in producing our website are provided via the goodwill of our webmaster Gary Early for the benefit of all who visit. The website is of special interest as the IWDIG attempts to provide innovations in graphic software, new technologies and the latest camera equipment news.
As for education and learning all those with an interest in developing their skills in the photographic digital age, the external workshops and tutorials in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom that the IWDIG affords its membership are proving very popular indeed. It appears there is nobody else on the island that is providing these task and activity workshops and Gary is in great demand from other photography clubs.
This week Gary is providing a Workshop Tutorial tonight at Sandown & Shanklin District Camera Club the IWDIG Wednesday and on Thursday he will be at Niton and District Camera Club.

Thanks to those who nominated us as they obviously enjoy the training and facilities provided. Now we eagerly await the judge’s verdict to see if the IWDIG can reach the shortlist.
The Hantsweb Awards are run by Hampshire County Council and celebrate website excellence and the best internet services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. They play a huge role in improving the standard of online services, encouraging good practice and raising awareness of the opportunities that Internet services can offer communities.
The IWDIG continues to grow with a range of social activities and tasks coming up, watch this space.
