We recognise that one very important area is Child Protection and the protection of vulnerable adults and in that respect we have published the IWDIG Child Protection Policy and expect all of our members to follow the guidelines and advice that it contains. You may view the policy by clicking the link on the left or alternatively the item at the top of the page in the menu bar.

The IWDIG is very pleased to announce the success of our youngest photographer, Lucy Johnson, in winning first place in the JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race Photographic Competition. Lucy, only 15 at the time, won the under 18 category with her image ‘Through The Needles’ and was judged by Sir Robin Knox Johnston to have taken the best photograph conveying the atmosphere of the Round the Island Race 2007 in that category.
Yachts & Yachting Magazine were the organisers of this prestigious photography competition with Old Pulteney and Henri Lloyd joining forces as sponsors. Numerous photographers in two age groups (under 18 and over) were encouraged to capture the excitement and beauty of one of the Islands if not the world’s largest yacht races and Lucy received a trio of Henri Lloyd dry bags as her prize with her winning image being published online and may also be published in the Yachts & Yachting Magazine.
Lucy is at present studying media and photography at A level along with her other subjects, including language studies, and eventually hopes to work in media either in the UK or abroad.

Our second featured photographer is Peter Watts whose work features both local Island scenery and the more exotic images from Peter’s travels in Thailand along with his personal portraiture.
The wealth of Peter’s experience and expertise shows through his images and we hope you enjoy this presentation.

The IWDIG now has such a variety of skills and talent that we felt it necessary to showcase our photographers here. We are introducing a ‘featured photographer’ item and we hope you enjoy their images.
The first featured photographer is Lucy Johnson who is the group’s youngest member. Lucy is 16 and at school studying media and photography for A level along with languages. She intends to continue her studies at university and eventually work in some area of media or journalism. As you can see from her work Lucy enjoys a broad range of subjects and she hopes that you enjoy her slideshow.
