The Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group is pleased to be participating in our biggest digital inclusion event to date. Throughout October the IWDIG are celebrating Get Online Week 2010 and everyone is invited to participate at not one but four events.

The main focus of the IWDIG Get Online introduction is a fun online game called ‘Splash and Grab’   New and old users to the internet can practice basic computer skills and get a chance to win some fabulous prizes including, an Apple iPad in the Get Online prize draw! 

This year’s national Get Online Week – www.getonlineweek.com - takes place from 18th to 24th October 2010 and aims to get tens of thousands of people started with computers and the internet. 

There are 10 million adults in the UK who don’t use the internet, and with services going online and most new jobs now requiring internet skills, they could be missing out on all sorts of benefits, opportunities and savings. 

When people register with Splash and Grab, they’re automatically registered with myguide – www.myguide.gov.uk – so they also get a free email account and access to loads of free and easy bite-sized computer courses.
