Something for the Weekend: Clocks Go Back

On Sunday 30th October the clocks go back at 2.am and we will gain an extra hour.  Just like our Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group (IWDIG)  project earlier this year when the clocks sprung forward , lets capture ‘The Hour’ as a snapshot in time.

On Sunday as British Summer Time ends, choose any hour capture some photos and post them to our IWDIG Facebook Page Link or New IWDIG Flickr Photo Group Link.   For those photographers without a Facebook or Flickr account, capture some images from your chosen hour and send your images via email to IWDIG Continue reading

IWDIG Mobile Phone, Facebook, Twitter & Flickr Friendly

IWDIG have launched many internet friendly and digital photographic initiatives, over the last year, and now we have the only mobile phone friendly photography club website on the Isle of Wight.

Now mobile smartphone and device users can find their way around the website easily accessing all of the links and read all the content with ease.  A recent initiative launched, in August, ensured regular mobile phone text alerts are already being sent to IWDIG photographers along with newsletters and updates. 

Ever vigilant that visitors to our website were not just viewing the IWDIG on their Laptops and Pc’s but are accessing us on iPhones, android devices or Blackberries, we have installed a new mobile application this week. Continue reading

Lucy and Mike Walk the Wight

Blue skies and sunshine and it was up with the larks for Lucy and Mike this morning as they took part in the Earl Mountbatten Walk the Wight. 

Mike did the big one and took a few mobile phone shots on his Blackberry (see below).  Lucy as usual took the flat walk in her stride kitted out in fancy dress and managed a Blackberry moment too. Continue reading

Not wanting to miss out on this innovation, the Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group are now actively seeking votes as one of the Greats for The Great Exhibition 2012.

Isle of Wight Photo Agency

With their fingers firmly on the shutter, the Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group network of photographers have launched the first  ‘Isle of Wight Photo Agency’.

Building on a commitment to ensure photographers realise appreciation in the creativity and value of their work,  the photo agency is part of a series of innovations to give IWDIG photographers a heads up on the business side of their photography.

Due to increasing demand from media publishers for high quality, cost effective images for use on corporate sites, books and in magazines there appears to be a market for this type of stock photography. Continue reading

IWDIG Focus ‘GO ON’ Mobile

The Go ON – get more out of life online campaign challenged everyone to use computers and the internet and make getting online their New Year’s resolution.

The Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group enjoyed ‘Go ON mobile activities using cameras, mobile phones, computers and the internet.  

In addition new people could visit at any time during January and February, by dropping in for a free taster session on digital photography at the IWDIG. Continue reading
